A 18-year-old healthy female describes a displaced, stress fiacture of the femur shaft occurred from a long-distance walking of 30 kilometers everyday for 15 days. Nondisplaced femoral shaft stress fracture are common overuse injuries frequently seen in atheletes and military recruits, but displaced femoral shaft stress fracture are very rare. Here we report a rare case which was treated with interlocking intramedullary nail and emphases the importance of the basic principle of sport medicine, that is to increase intensity of physical activity slowly and appronriate rest.
